What do students usually do in class?
Humanities 8
The social research course of Grade 8 is different from other grades. This course is combined with the English course and is called the humanities course. Humanities 8 mainly cultivates students' communication, thinking and social core ability. English 8 and Humanities 8 will discuss literary works, such as novels, plays, and poetry.
Social Studies 9
Social Studies 9 will be separated from the English class as a separate course. Teachers will pay more attention to understanding Western civilization in the past three centuries, and students will learn about the history and historical influence of our country, including population, race, terrain, conflict and other historical contents.
Social Studies 10
Social Studies 10 will be based on the knowledge learned in humanities 8 and Social Studies 9 before, which can help them better master, expand and interpret the knowledge they have learned.
Social Studies 11 and 12
Students of Social Studies 11 will choose a topic that they are interested in or good at to innovate, write, and develop. Social Studies 12 Because of the good foundation of Social Studies 11, there will be four different courses for students to choose from, namely World History 12, Law 12, BC First People 12, and Psychology 12. World history 12 mainly talks about war, race and conflict. Law 12 will be handed over to students in Canada's civil law, criminal law and human rights. BC First People 12 will let students understand their culture, worldview, and customs. Psychology 12 will help students understand themselves better.
